Lake Area Master Gardener Garden Tour 2009

The third annual Lake Area Master Gardener Garden Tour-- The Art of Gardening -- will be held Saturday, June 6 from 9 am until 2 pm. The private gardens are located in the Camdenton area.

Gardening Demonstrations and Artists

Throughout the day, educational demonstrations will be provided. Topics in the past have included soil testing, container gardening, floral arrangement, and worm composting. In addition, artists will be in- residence at the gardens. Not only will they be demonstrating their craft, but several will have paintings for sale.

History of MG Garden Tour

The first Garden Tour was held June of 2007. It began as an effort to provide a service to the community while creating an opportunity for our members to work together. The result was beautiful gardens, interesting demonstrations, and relaxing music which created a great day to enjoy with friends.

The tour is self guided. At each garden Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions and assist guests. In addition, a map is available on this site as well as at each of the gardens

Entertainment

What better way to enjoy a late morning or early afternoon than walking through a garden with music in the background? Local musicians will be performing at each of the gardens throughout the day. Last year the music added a festive note to the day, this year will do the same with a wide array of local musicians performing.
